This is the first week of review for the month of June. To start the week I decided to do a sleeping with sirens review because they are one of my favourite bands.
There was a time when I really liked pop music. But then one day I listened to Sleeping with Sirens and everything changed. Sleeping with Sirens is the band that got me to like pop punk, punk and more rock music.
My top 5 Sleeping with Sirens songs
1. with ears to see and eyes to hear
This my all time favourite sleeping with sirens song. It has a lot of memories attached to it. This song has two versions, an acoustic one and the original. I like them both but I prefer the original better. This song to me is about someone who has lied to him and that person who lied will get karma.
2. if you can't hang
This song is about a boy who meets a girl at seventeen. Later the girl cheats on him. He says that the girl was a big waste of his time. Later he meets a girl at twenty-three. He gives everything to her and she does they same.
3. do it now remember it later
This song is about living in the moment. It is about taking risks, chasing your dreams. It is also about not caring what anyone else thinks, just do what you want.
4. roger rabbit
This song is about that nobody is going to help you through all your little problems in life so you need to learn to help yourself and you have got to learn to love yourself before anybody else can love you.
5.A Trophy Father's Trophy Son
This song is about a boy who is becoming older and is starting to now wonder where his father is and why he left him. The boy thinks it is his fault that is father left. He wishes his father would just say he wasn't coming back or if he was, wishing he would make up his mind. At this point he doesn't know if he can even call it a family since part of it is missing. He always is thinking about the chance he may come back and they can truly be a family.

Mayday Parade review
This week I am going to
review one of my favourite bands ever. Mayday Parade. I really like Mayday
Parade because there songs are stuff I can relate to and they are not like most
pop artist that talk about drugs and drinking. I think that they are really
talented, on their tracks or their live performances.
My top 5 favourtie Mayday
Parade songs:
1. Terrible Things
This song is one of the most
saddest songs ever. It is about a father telling his son when he met the son's
mother, the best thing that ever happened to him. When he proposed to her, she
said that she was dying. When she passed, he was so hurt that he didn't want
his son to feel the same pain of losing someone. The first time I heard this
song I cried. To me I think the mother had cancer and that is something to
relate to because right now my mother is battling cancer.
2. Miserable at Best
This song is about a guy who
moves away from is girlfriend. so the break up. But they never had there
closure while this boy watches his girl go off with other boys. When they are
still kinda at heart together because they haven't had their closure yet.
Making the man miserable at best because he is not over her.
3. Stay
This is the first song I
listen to from them. I was playing songpop (it is a app where you challenge
other people to see who can guess the song first from a little clip of it) and
this song came on. I really liked from the little snippet that I heard. I
listened to the full song and fell in love. This song is about his girlfriend
getting into an accident and is on her way to the hospital. He's scared of losing
her and is thinking about all of the memories that they've had together. He's
also saying that if she dies, or passes on he's not going to know what to do
with all the love he had for her. He thinks she's going to die but he doesn't
want to live a single day without her. The video explains this really well.
4. Jamie All Over
I think this sing is about a
guy who is remembering a past relationship he had, times they shared together,
and the dreams he is having about her. "Sunsets never were so bright/ And
the skies never so blue." i think he's saying that things were so much
better when he was with her and life itself seemed so much beautiful when she
was in his life.
5. When I Get Home, You’re
So Dead
I recently just got into
this song. To me, I feel this is a song about a girl who is making new friends
and leaving her boyfriend in the dust.

Top Music Videos from the 80's- Monday
I was trying to think of a topic about music videos for this
week. I was sitting in the car with my mom and she put on sirius xm on the 80s
channel. The song thriller came on by Micheal Jackson. I then thought about how
cool the music video was and how cool the dance was. Then it got me thinking. I
came across the idea of talking about that top ten music videos from the 80's.
I searched online to see what the top music videos are and on billboard.com
then did on poll to see what people thought the top videos. As I was going
through and watching all the videos, I thought that all the videos deserved the
place that they got (I have not seen a lot of music videos from the 80s). I am
going to tell you what I like about all music videos.
80's music has a big impact on history. It exposed us to hip
hop, rap, and heavy metal.
Now lets get to the top ten music videos of the 80s
At number 10 it is "Rhythm Nation" By Janet
Jackson
This video was made in 1989. This video is in black and white and Janet Jackson and her crew put on their military jackets. What I really like about the video is the choreographed routine. I think it looks really hard to do and I don't think I would be able to do it. This song was released on the album title Rhythm Nation, which is her fourth studio album.
Number 9 is Every Breath You Take By The Police.
This video was made in 1993 and was the biggest hit. It was US #1 for 8 weeks
At the first MTV Video Music Awards in 1983, this won for Best Cinematography. This video is in black and white. This video shows jazz musicians playing instruments.
Number 8 is Walk This Way By RUN-D.M.C. and Aerosmith.
This video was made in 1986. I really like Aerosmith's music because my mom listens to them all the time. The Run-D.M.C. video is the first that Tyler and Perry appeared in. It was the first time many young Aerosmith fans saw what they looked like. The Run-D.M.C. cover launched Aerosmith's comeback.
Number 7 is Hungry Like A Wolf By Duran Duran
This video was made in 1983. I remember hearing this song in The "Far Far Away Idol" contest at the end of the movie Shrek 2 featured a performance of the song by the Big Bad Wolf.
This was the band's breakthrough hit in the US. It's success originated from MTV, which had only just come on air, showing their video of the band in the Sri Lanka jungle
Number 6 is Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel
This video was made in 1986 The video was directed by Stephen R. Johnson. I really liked how they used stop-motion claymation techniques in the video.
Now we are down to the top five music videos of the 80's
Number 5 is When Doves Cry by Prince
This video was made in 1984. Prince wrote this song for his movie Purple Rain. In the US, this was the #1 song of 1984. It topped the charts for five weeks over the summer.
Number 4 is Take on Me by A-Ha
This video was made in 1985. I really like that the video changes from real to chartoon. The video was inspired by the transformation scene in the 1980 film Altered States. Every scene was shot live then projected onto paper and traced. I really like this song.
Number 3 is Girls Just Want To Have Fun By Cyndi Lauper
This video was made in 1983. Cyndi wanted 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' to be an anthem for women around the world. I really like the bright, outrageous clothes that the girls are wearing in this video.
Number 2 is Like a Prayer By Madonna
This video was made in 1989. This video today has more then 10,000,000 views on the original upload and other uploads of it. I don't really like the video. I feel like the video does not have a good story and I find the video boring.
We are finally at number 1. The number one music video in the 80s is, drum roll please.
Thriller By Michael Jackson.
This video was made in 1983. I remember when I was in grade seven and we had to learn the dance to this song. We also had to perform the song in front of the school , it was lots of fun.
So that was the top ten music videos from the 80's. I want you to leave in the comments whether you agree or disagree with the top videos. I will see you all next week.
