Mayday Parade review

This week I am going to review one of my favourite bands ever. Mayday Parade. I really like Mayday Parade because there songs are stuff I can relate to and they are not like most pop artist that talk about drugs and drinking. I think that they are really talented, on their tracks or their live performances.

My top 5 favourtie Mayday Parade songs:

1. Terrible Things

This song is one of the most saddest songs ever. It is about a father telling his son when he met the son's mother, the best thing that ever happened to him. When he proposed to her, she said that she was dying. When she passed, he was so hurt that he didn't want his son to feel the same pain of losing someone. The first time I heard this song I cried. To me I think the mother had cancer and that is something to relate to because right now my mother is battling cancer.

2. Miserable at Best
This song is about a guy who moves away from is girlfriend. so the break up. But they never had there closure while this boy watches his girl go off with other boys. When they are still kinda at heart together because they haven't had their closure yet. Making the man miserable at best because he is not over her.

3. Stay

This is the first song I listen to from them. I was playing songpop (it is a app where you challenge other people to see who can guess the song first from a little clip of it) and this song came on. I really liked from the little snippet that I heard. I listened to the full song and fell in love. This song is about his girlfriend getting into an accident and is on her way to the hospital. He's scared of losing her and is thinking about all of the memories that they've had together. He's also saying that if she dies, or passes on he's not going to know what to do with all the love he had for her. He thinks she's going to die but he doesn't want to live a single day without her. The video explains this really well.

4. Jamie All Over
I think this sing is about a guy who is remembering a past relationship he had, times they shared together, and the dreams he is having about her. "Sunsets never were so bright/ And the skies never so blue." i think he's saying that things were so much better when he was with her and life itself seemed so much beautiful when she was in his life.

5. When I Get Home, You’re So Dead
I recently just got into this song. To me, I feel this is a song about a girl who is making new friends and leaving her boyfriend in the dust.

What To Listen To- Wednesday

This week theme is what to listen to. So I am going to show you some songs to listen when you are sad.

The first song is stay by mayday parade. This song to me is about a guy and a girl that had a relationship that was very passionate but ended badly without any type of closure on either end , but now he's having a hard time getting over her, so he shuts off his feelings until he has more control of them. When he does manage to gain control he finds, but then his sadness comes up again and he really misses her. He tells her that he's willing to take her back only if she wants to, but instead she tells him she's does not want any contact with him anymore. Next he explains how he felt he was getting better and her actions are threatening to dampen his mood. He still loves her but has no outlet and regrets the original reason they broke up, and then he says he'd take her back and explains what's become of him and remembers their time they had together. Mayday parade has a lot of sad songs like miserable at best, terrible things and many more.

I would recommend listening to this song when you are going through a break up. So of you are in a mood to listen to sad songs, listen to Mayday Parade

The next song is I miss you by Miley Cyrus. This song is about Miley's grandpa, Ron Cyrus, who died in 2006. He was diagnosed with mesothelioma and she wanted to write a song for him before he died. This song can relate to anyone who has lost a loved one.

The next song is scars by Papa Roach. This song is about getting tired of trying to fix everyone else's problems, but also having a had time because you care so much. You tear yourself open, so you can heal and be ready to do it for the next time. You can't do it anymore but you still care. You have to tell them, "you fix yourself," even though it is the hardest part. It's about trying to help someone who does not want to take you help but you do it anyways because you care.

The last song is The Scientist By Coldplay This song is about a scientist who is so caught up in his work that he neglects his girlfriend, but realizes it eventually and wants to "go back to the start" and begin fresh. The music video shows lead singer Chris Martin driving with his girlfriend. They get into an accident, she goes flying through the windshield and dies. Chris just walks out of the car, out of the forest, and into a city. This is all backwards. The video was shot normal direction and then played backwards, while Chris sang the lyrics to the song backwards. This song is about how Chris wishes he could go back to when the first were together and when everything was perfect.

Next week I am going to do the theme plus I am also going to talk about the results from the poll I did last week.
